Ah, another day in property management — maintenance requests streaming in, techs dispatched, and the occasional totally reasonable tenant ask… or so you’d think.
Our maintenance hero rolls up to a property to fix a garbage disposal — standard stuff, right? He’s there, tools out, drain unplugged, grease fought, disposal humming like a champ. Job done.
He turns to head out, ready to check his next task… and then it happens.
The tenant — smiling politely — asks him if he’ll swing by Walmart on his way back and pick up some bottled water for her.
Wait… what?
Yes, that’s right. After completing a maintenance request that they didn’t even schedule as a grocery trip, the tenant had the audacity to ask the tech to make a side quest to Walmart for bottled water — on company time.
Our tech stood there. Blinked. Checked his toolbox. Wondered if he had accidentally enrolled in a grocery delivery gig.
But alas — maintenance techs fix disposals… not fetch beverages.
Some people are just NUTS.
